Behind the Bracelet

Ocean Animal Tracking Bracelets

Happy Friday!

I wanted to take a moment to pull back the curtain and share more about the Ocean Animal Tracking Bracelets we worked on behind the scenes for months — something I’m really proud of!

Three weeks ago, we launched our new Ocean Animal Tracking Bracelets, and I’ve been blown away by the response so far. But I realized I never really told the full story behind them.

Dorsal started just under 7 years ago. The original idea was simple: A bracelet that serves as a conversation starter and daily reminder to help protect our oceans. We took it a step further by removing a pound of ocean plastic with every purchase.

At the end of 2024, we were planning our lineup for 2025 and decided it was time for a change. The space is getting crowded (which we absolutely love any business trying to spread awareness for the ocean), but we wanted to push innovation and take things to a deeper level.

It was a simple question: How can we bring you closer to the ocean through a bracelet?

Dozens of ideas and hundreds of hours later, the tracking bracelets were going to be Dorsal’s next evolution. A true way to connect with the ocean in a personal, interactive way.

Building the technology was an entirely different beast. We didn’t want the bracelet to be tied to an app or a complicated setup. Just a simple, yet meaningful way to stay connected to an ocean animal.

We spent 4 months with developers trying to build the software behind the bracelet that is available today (and will continue to evolve).

For me, this isn’t just about jewelry. It’s about a deeper connection between ocean lovers. It’s about sharing an experience.

If you haven’t had a chance to check them out yet, you can see them here:

And if you have already picked one up, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just hit reply to this email — I read every single message.

Thanks for being part of this journey with me. It means more than you know.

Have a great weekend ahead and thank you so much for your support!
